State bar to file complaint against bankruptcy lawyer

The State Bar of Nevada presented Las Vegas bankrtupcy attorrney Randolph Goldberg with a holiday gift. The bar decided to go forward and file a formal complaint against him.

A discliplinary panel on Tuesday decided to consolidate 10 complaints into one formal complaint and go forward with a hearing. The panel could have found the complaints without merit and decided against going forward, but Goldberg wasn’t that lucky.

With the holiday season, Assistant Bar Counsel Phil Pattee said Wednesday it may be the end of this year or the beginning of next before the complaint is written and filed. The details of the allegations become public when the formal complaint is filed.

Goldberg has long insisted his bankruptcy practice, which is heavily advertised on TV, is not problematic, despite the large number of clients who have turned to the state bar and complained about him. Time to see if he can make his case successfully in front of his fellow attorneys.
