On Saturday, the Las Vegas Chapter 17 of the Vietnam Veterans of America awarded $2,500 checks to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, College of Southern Nevada and Nevada State College to be used for student veterans’ expenses such as rent, books and groceries.
The chapter is a nonprofit, congressionally chartered veterans service organization.
