Veterans with PTSD might want to inform neighbors about fireworks, company says

Military veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder who might be startled by Fourth of July fireworks should put signs in their front yards asking neighbors to be considerate, a fireworks distributor says.

“The startle of the unexpected fireworks booms can cause some veterans increased anxiety, which could be difficult and challenging to them,” says a news release from Ohio-based Phantom Fireworks that cites its consulting mental health counselor Chelsey Zodan.

The company says said signs are available here.
