Petty officer backs husband for award
FALLON — A man whose wife is stationed at the Fallon Naval Air Station is in the running for a magazine’s Military Spouse of the Year award.
Robert Duncan is the Navy branch winner in Military Spouse Magazine’s fourth annual contest.
The 41-year-old Duncan was nominated by his wife, Donna, who is a petty officer stationed at the Fallon base. He is the first male nominee ever in the contest.
Duncan served in the Marines himself, and his son will be leaving for Air Force boot camp in July.
The overall spouse of the year winner will be announced at a May 5 ceremony in Washington, D.C.
Duncan and the other four branch winners were selected through an online vote.
The overall winner also will be determined by an online vote.
