Bike ride to raise money for Fisher House for Nevada’s wounded warriors

A veterans motorcycle group, 2 Million Bikers to DC, will team up with the nonprofit Nevada Veterans Foundation on Saturday for a “Stars & Stripes Pride Ride” to raise funds to build a Fisher House for wounded warriors and their families in the Las Vegas Valley.

Registration begins 8 a.m. Saturday at Crowbar, 1113 S. Rainbow Blvd., for the poker run to Mountain Springs Saloon, the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, then Henderson Harley Davidson and back to Crowbar, according to D’Nese Davis, Nevada’s assistant state coordinator for the group.

The donation is $25 per rider, or $35 per rider with a passenger, or $20 for driver pre-registration at http://nevadavets.org/fundraising-events. Pre-registration ends 11 p.m. Friday.

The event was organized in honor of Military Appreciation Month.

Davis said all proceeds will go to help veterans and fund the project to build a Fisher House for wounded warriors’ families to stay while their loved ones are undergoing treatments at the VA Medical Center in North Las Vegas.

The round-trip ride is about 90 miles. Davis said more than 200 motorcyclists are expected.
