Man sent to prison in 2010 Sparks home invasion killing

SPARKS — A second man has been sentenced to prison for his role in the shooting death of a Sparks man during a home invasion in November 2010.

Washoe District Judge Patrick Flanagan sentenced 29-year-old Henry Toy of Sacramento, Calif., to up to 25 years for aiding/abetting second-degree murder in the killing of 35-year-old Tommy Young. He’ll be eligible for parole after 10 years.

Toy pleaded guilty in late 2011 to assisting Devaughn King in the murder. He admitted he kicked in the door at the home where Young lived with his mother on York Way in Sparks.

King is serving time in a California jail on a drug trafficking charge. He also was sentenced in January to 25 years in prison on a second-degree murder charge, with parole eligible after 10 years.
