24,000 Nevada teachers eligible for $100 reimbursement for school supplies
More than 24,000 teachers in Nevada may receive a reimbursement of about $100 for out-of-pocket expenses spent on school supplies.
The Nevada Department of Education on Wednesday announced eligibility for 24,333 educators under the new Teachers’ School Supplies Reimbursement Account, a program created in the recent legislative session.
Teachers, who must submit receipts to their principal, may receive the maximum amount of $102.73 for out-of-pocket purchases of school supplies used to instruct students, according to a news release.
The education department evenly divides an annual allocation of $2.5 million by the total number of eligible teachers in each district and charter school, the release reads.
Districts and charters schools reporter their eligible employees. A spokeswoman for the education department did not immediately respond to a request for a list of eligible teachers by district and charter school.
