Warming trend to carry valley through midweek

Soak up some sun over the weekend, Las Vegas. The warming trend the valley is enjoying should end by Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Saturday’s low morning temperature of 40 degrees should melt into afternoon highs in the low 60s, said meteorologist Justin Pullin. High clouds are expected to move over the valley in the afternoon and conditions should stay calm, he said.

Overnight lows should drop to between 37 and 41 degrees, the National Weather Service predicts. Temperatures Sunday will climb into the low 60s again, with a forecast high of 63 degrees on the east side of the valley and 60 on the west side.

Winds will blow up to 10 mph Sunday and skies will be partly cloudy.

Monday should see temperatures move into the mid 60s before Tuesday and Wednesday warm into the upper 60s, Pullin said.

Weather models forecast a potential pattern change late in the week, which could mean cooler temperatures and possible winds, Pullin said.

It’s too early to say exactly what the pattern change will mean for valley weather, but “the warming trend will be done with by Thursday,” Pullin said.
