Streak of triple-digit temps ends, still hot in Las Vegas Valley

The Las Vegas Valley can expect warm weather and sunny skies through the Labor Day weekend, the National Weather Service said.

Temperatures should peak this week with a forecast high of 103 degrees on Thursday, before dipping to 102 on Friday and 101 on Saturday, the weather service said.

Sunday’s forecast has a high of 99, and Labor Day should be sunny with a high near 96.

Temperatures this time of year typically are near 100, the weather service said.

Tuesday’s high of 99 marked the end of a 37-day streak of triple-digit temperatures, the eighth-longest such streak on record, the weather service said.
