Storms, cooler weather expected to end the week

Wednesday’s cloud coverage should clear out before another storm system rolls through the valley Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

High temperatures Wednesday peaked at about 82 degrees in the afternoon and were expected to climb another degree or so before dipping to nighttime lows in the low 60s, said weather service meteorologist Chris Outler.

Thursday will be breezy and a “tad cooler” than Wednesday with highs of about 80 degrees, Outler said. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms is forecast for the afternoon and evening.

The same system will persist Friday, Outler said, with scattered showers forecast all day throughout the valley. Highs Friday will only reach about 72 degrees and lows at night should drop to 60 degrees.

The storms are expected to finish by Saturday, which is expected to be partly cloudy. High temperatures should be back up to about 80 degrees, Outler said.
