Rain possible in Las Vegas Valley on Wednesday
More moisture could be in Las Vegas’ immediate future.
There’s a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms on Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Rain is likeliest to fall in the mountains, but forecasters have not ruled out the possibility of its presence in the valley, NWS meteorologist Caleb Steele said Wednesday morning.
Temperatures will top out near 100 degrees and fall to 83 degrees overnight. The humidity will be about 20 percent.
Winds will be calmer than the last few days, Steele said, with only some southerly gusts.
Look for things to gradually dry out and heat up by the weekend, though.
Steele predicts temperatures to reach 110 degrees Saturday and Sunday, on the cusp of what the NWS considers extreme.
Temperatures in excess of 110 degrees call for a heat advisory, Steele said.
This second-to-last weekend of summer vacation will be sunny and hot.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
