Las Vegas makes it to 100 degrees Saturday
Las Vegas reached a high of 100 degrees and experienced another dry day Saturday, the National Weather Service said.
Temperatures reached the century mark about 5 p.m., meteorologist Justin Pullin said.
Saturday’s high was 5 degrees below average for Aug. 8, and 14 degrees below the day’s record of 114 degrees, set in 1978.
Winds of 10 to 15 mph blew out of the east and later swung out of the southwest, Pullin said.
Things will be “quiet and dry” through the end of the weekend, Pullin said. Small chances of thunderstorms will pop up midweek, around Wednesday, and increase toward the end of next week, he said.
Sunday’s temperatures will climb to 101 with a low of 80, Pullin said.
