Labor Day weekend temperatures will be cooler — by Vegas standards

Blistering triple-digit temperatures have slid into just regular hot for Labor Day in Las Vegas.

Forecasts show show highs in the Las Vegas Valley will be slightly below average for this time of year, according to the National Weather Service.

“It will be a little cooler than normal,”meteorologist Chris Outler said, “but nothing too out of the ordinary.”

The weekend begins with a breezy Friday and an expected high of 96 before it drops down to 74 degrees overnight.

Breezes will continue into early Saturday afternoon, when the high should reach only 94. The southwest winds should stick through the rest of the day, becoming light in the west just after midnight, according to the weather service. Nighttime lows will be right around the upper 70s.

Things will warm slightly on Sunday as the high is forecasted to go back up to about 96 degrees, according to Outler.

Labor Day should see a high of 97 and a low of 74. Northwest winds are expected to blow 5 mph.
