Heat to stay, rain might be on way to Las Vegas
Temperatures in Las Vegas remained high Saturday, but rain might soon find its way to the valley, the National Weather Service said.
Highs at McCarran International Airport reached 105 degrees, meteorologist John Adair said. That’s 4 degrees above the Aug. 22 average of 101 degrees, and just 5 degrees below the day’s record of 110 degrees, set in 1939.
Sunday’s weather is expected to be almost identical to Saturday’s — dry with a high of 105, Adair said.
Monsoonal moisture will return Monday and Tuesday, with a small chance of thunderstorms, Adair said. Highs will stay at 105 on Monday before dipping to 100 on Tuesday.
