Flash flood watch issued for Las Vegas Valley

Rain covered the Las Vegas Valley this morning, causing the National Weather Service to issue a flash flood watch.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. The watch is in place until 9 p.m.

Running water was reported in valley streets, such as Rainbow and Charleston boulevards.

Further south in Clark County, between Searchlight and Cottonwood Cove Marina, serious flooding started just after 3 p.m., prompting a flash flood warning in the area until 6 p.m.

A Nevada Highway Patrol monitoring site reported many accidents on valley highways Thursday morning.

Weather conditions may be monitored at www.weather.gov.
