Cold front to move into valley on Christmas Day

The Las Vegas Valley should expect a high in the mid to upper 50s and a lot of clouds Monday and through the rest of the week before a cold front moves in Christmas Day.

Monday will see a high of 54 and low of 43 and be mostly cloudy, according to meteorologist Andrew Gorelow.

Conditions will stay about the same through most of the week and the valley can expect about a 10 percent chance of rain each afternoon until Thursday.

Thursday evening will see a slightly higher chance of rain, 20 percent, and winds out of the southwest will increase, Gorelow said.

A cold front is expected to move into the valley Christmas Day causing temperatures to drop about 10 degrees, putting the high in the mid 40s, according to the weather service.

The valley can expect to see freezing temperatures by the weekend.
