Newsfeed discussion to focus on transit, infrastructure issues
Are light rail and a monorail expansion in the cards for the Las Vegas Valley?
How will the future Interstate 11 affect valley traffic?
These questions and more about Las Vegas’ ongoing mobility issues, notably on the Strip, will be addressed Tuesday at Newsfeed, a partnership between the Las Vegas Review-Journal and the Las Vegas Metro Chamber of Commerce.
A panel of Las Vegas Valley transit and infrastructure officials will discuss the local economy’s dependence on the ability to move workers, visitors and goods to move freely around the resort corridor and throughout Southern Nevada.
The panel includes:
— Tina Quigley, general manager of the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada.
— Robert Lang, executive director of Brookings Mountain West and a UNLV professor of urban affairs.
— David Knowles, vice president, Northwest Transit Leader, CH2M.
Las Vegas Review-Journal Senior Editorial Writer Glenn Cook will moderate.
The event will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Four Seasons. Tickets are $40.
