Motorcyclist dies in Saturday evening accident

A 53-year-old man died late Saturday afternoon after a car pulled out in front of the motorcycle he was driving and the vehicles collided, Las Vegas police said.

The identity of the deceased man from Las Vegas was not released.

Police said the collision occurred just after 5:30 p.m. in the 3200 block of South Nellis Boulevard, near Linda Avenue.

Police said the man was traveling north on Nellis on a 1996 Harley Davidson when a 56-year-old woman driving a 1993 Acura Integra pulled out of a private driveway.

The driver of the Integra, Patricia Williams of Las Vegas, drove onto Nellis and the motorcyclist struck the car’s left side.

The man was ejected from his motorcycle and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Williams sustained moderate injuries and was treated at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, police said.

The collision is under investigation.

The incident marks the 31st traffic fatality of the year under the jurisdiction of the Metropolitan Police Department.
