Motorcyclist dies in accident in northwest area

One person is dead after a motorcycle and SUV collided just before 7 a.m. Monday morning in the northwest part of the valley.

The motorcycle struck the SUV, which then rolled, at the intersection of Ann Road and Grand Canyon Drive. The driver of the SUV, 16, was taken to Centennial Hills Hospital. She sustained minor injuries, according to police.

The 17-year-old motorcyclist was thrown from his motorcycle on impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
