Motorcyclist dies after collision with vehicle

A 19-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a car late Monday near Durango Drive and Sahara Avenue.

Amir Akram Elkhechen, 19, of Las Vegas, was driving a 2004 Kawasaki motorcycle south on Durango Drive near Starboard Drive about 10 p.m. A 1993 Cadillac Seville making a left turn onto Starboard was hit by the motorcycle, according to Las Vegas police.

Elkhechen was taken to University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. The cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries, with a secondary cause of motorcycle collision.

The death was ruled an accident.

The driver and the passenger of the car suffered minor injuries.

This is the 54th traffic related fatality in Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction in 2013.
