Washoe inmate, 60, dies while serving time for assault, robbery

A 60-year-old prisoner died Wednesday at the Regional Medical Facility at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City, according to the Nevada Department of Corrections.

Daniel Brumbach was committed from Washoe County on July 25, 2007, to serve consecutive sentences of 72 to 180 months for six counts of robbery; serving consecutive sentences of 72 to 180 months for six counts of use of deadly weapon enhancement; serving a concurrent sentence of 48 to 120 months for attempted robbery, the department said Thursday.

Brumbach was also serving a concurrent sentence of 28 to 72 months for assault with a deadly weapon.

The department did not release any other information about Brumbach’s death. The coroner from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
