Pahrump deputy arrested after police say he pointed gun at wife
A Pahrump deputy who works at a Nye County detention center was arrested after police said he pushed his wife and then pointed a gun at her Saturday during an argument.
Andrew Denning, 24, who has been with the detention center since December, was arrested by Nye County police and is facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon, child endangerment and domestic battery, police said.
About noon, police said he was “being evaluated” before they could book him into the Nye County detention center.
The incident began Sunday morning about 6:45 a.m. when Denning pushed his wife with his shoulder during an argument, police said.
When Denning’s wife tried to stop him from leaving with his child, Denning pointed a gun at her and ordered her to move, police said.
Further details of the incident were not immediately available.
Denning’s mug shot will be available when he’s booked, police said.
