Las Vegas man identified in wrong-way crash near Pahrump
A man died after a wrong-way crash Saturday night near Pahrump, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened on state Route 160, also known as Pahrump Valley Highway, and mile marker 25, about 15 miles south of Pahrump, the Highway Patrol said in a press release. Troopers responded to the crash just before 10:05 p.m.
According to a Highway Patrol press release, which said the information known about the crash was preliminary, a 2015 Lexus RC was traveling west in the eastbound lanes when it veered off the road and struck a guard rail.
The driver of the Lexus, 42-year-old Adam Joseph Lousig-Nont, of Las Vegas, was pronounced dead at an area hospital just after 12:30 a.m. Sunday, the Highway Patrol said.
Lousig-Nont’s death was the 77 fatality in Nevada State Police Highway Patrol Southern Command’s jurisdiction this year.
