Inmate walks away from Northern Nevada worksite Sunday

A conservation camp inmate walked away from a Carson City worksite Sunday morning, the Nevada Department of Corrections said in a statement.

At about 11:40 a.m., a minimum security inmate was discovered missing, Ricardo Soria Valencia, 27, walked away from Stewart Conservation Camp located next to Northern Nevada Correctional Center in Carson City. He was discovered missing about 11:40 a.m., the department said.

“He is 5 feet 7 inches tall, brown eyes, black hair and approximately 150 pounds. He has a number of tattoos including three dots on each hand and his last name “Valencia” across his back,” the department said in a news release.

According to the release, Valencia arrived at the correctional center from Washoe County in March and was serving 24 to 60 months for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, white T-shirt and blue or white sneakers.

Anyone with information on Valencia’s whereabouts is asked to contact 911 or their local law enforcement.
