Woman’s body found after fire in mobile home
A woman’s body was found by firefighters Wednesday afternoon inside a mobile home near Desert Inn Road and Nellis Boulevard, a county official said.
Authorities did not identify the woman.
Stacey Welling, a spokeswoman with the Clark County Fire Department, said firefighters responded about 3 p.m. to a single-wide home at the Desert Inn Mobile Estates at 3578 Fort McHenry Drive.
Welling said a neighbor smelled smoke and alerted firefighters when no one responded to knocks at the door. Welling said firefighters then found the body. The fire was already out upon their arrival.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, Welling said.
Las Vegas police are helping with the investigation, a routine procedure when a body is found in a fire.
Police spokesman Bill Cassell said Wednesday afternoon that there was no indication of a crime, but the investigation was ongoing.
