Woman killed in Sunday crash was wearing seat belt
A woman who died Sunday night in a fatal crash on the 215 Beltway was wearing her seat belt, Nevada Highway Patrol said Monday.
The white Ford E350 Econoline van was traveling too fast in the rain and the driver lost control, highway patrol said. The van rotated and left the roadway edge where it climbed up a concrete median and overturned.
Sheila Williams, 48, of Las Vegas, was seated in the second row on the left side and was restrained at the time of the crash, highway patrol said. She was thrown from the vehicle and died on the scene. Nine other occupants were taken to University Medical Center with injuries that were not described as life threatening.
This is Nevada Highway Patrol-Southern Command’s ninth fatal accident for this year.
