Woman dies in hit-and-run accident
A woman was killed Saturday morning in a hit-and-run accident on U.S. Highway 95.
The woman was the passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended about 7:25 a.m. while traveling south on the highway, just north of Tropicana Avenue, said Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Jeremie Elliot.
When the woman got out of the van to check the damage, she was struck by a minivan.
The woman was taken to University Medical Center in critical condition, but later died.
The driver of the minivan fled the scene, but was later located and arrested by Las Vegas police.
The county coroner’s office will identify the woman.
