Trailer stolen from Red Rock Search and Rescue
Red Rock Search and Rescue is looking for help finding its stolen trailer.
The agency took to Facebook on Sunday to ask the community to keep an eye out.
Cmdr. David Cummings said the trailer was going to be used to transport mountain bikes and was donated to the search and rescue squad by a resident who lived in the area.
It would cost about $4,000 for search and rescue officers to buy a new, similar trailer, Cummings said.
The search and rescue team uses the mountain bikes for multiple purposes. In urban areas, the bikes are mostly used to look for missing persons, Cummings said.
In the wilderness, bicycles are often used to move through trails quickly. Cummings said that riding bikes gives rescuers many of the same advantages as riding a horse.
“It’s absolutely fantastic for search and rescue,” Cummings said.
If you see the trailer, Cummings asks that you call him at 702-787-4068 or contact Metro.
“We would like to get our trailer back. It’s really valuable to us,” Cummings said.
