Temperatures drop slightly, but heat warning continues for Southern Nevada

Although the valley isn’t expected to see record highs again this weekend, an excessive heat warning is still in effect until Friday evening.

The warning, until 8 p.m., includes Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Pahrump, Blue Diamond and the Lake Mead National Conservation area, as well as other parts of Clark County.

Saturday’s predicted high is 106 degrees, a small sign of relief from the record highs that hit up to 112 degrees earlier this week, according to the National Weather Service.

The temperature is expected to hit 107 degrees Sunday, cooling off by a degree Monday and down to 104 on Tuesday. The rest of next week should stay in the lower range of triple digits.

A 20 percent chance of thunderstorms is on the forecast throughout the weekend, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
