Southwest flight from Las Vegas diverted to Indianapolis, passenger dies

INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis International Airport spokesman says Southwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Columbus, Ohio, was diverted to Indianapolis because of the illness of a passenger who later died.

Airport spokesperson Carlo Bertolini told WISH-TV that Flight 1891 landed in Indianapolis late Saturday.

He says medical responders were unable to revive the man. WISH reported it wasn’t immediately clear if the man died on the plane or after it landed.

Further details were not immediately available.
