Police seek ‘Mr. Telephone Man’ in string of robberies

The man involved in a string of Las Vegas cellphone business robberies reported Oct. 10 is being sought for four additional robberies that happened in the last five days, Las Vegas police said Wednesday.

At 6:40 p.m. on Oct. 10, “Mr. Telephone Man,” as Metro has dubbed him, robbed a cellphone store in the area of Pecos Road and Washington Avenue. The next day he robbed one store just after 5:30 p.m. near Pecos and Tropicana Avenue, another about 6 p.m. near Maryland Parkway and Twain Avenue and a third about 6:45 p.m. near Decatur Boulevard and Craig Road.

In each robbery the robber displays a gun in his waistband, demands money and flees, police said in a Wednesday release. The robberies began Sept. 19.

Police are describing the man as 20 to 30 years old, between 5-feet-8-inches and 5-feet-11-inches tall and weighing 220 to 260 pounds. He has brown eyes, black hair and a mustache and a tattoo on his left arm, police said.

The man was last seen wearing a blue cap, dark sunglasses, a gray, short-sleeve T-shirt and dark jeans.
