Man in custody after fatal stabbing at Henderson home
Police arrested a man in connection with the homicide of a woman inside a Henderson home early Saturday morning.
Michael Kaplan, 48, was arrested Saturday on a charge of open murder, Henderson police said. He is being held at the Henderson Detention Center.
In a statement, the Henderson Police Department said officers responded to medical call at about 5 a.m. Saturday at a home in the 500 block of Kristin Lane, near Sunset Road and Boulder Highway.
Arriving officers found a 30-year-old woman dead from a possible stab wound. The 48-year-old man who called 911 stayed on scene and was taken into custody.
There were three small children — a 7-year-old, a 3-year-old and a 3-month-old — inside the house at the time; all are now in the care of Child Protective Services, the statement said.
The Clark County coroner’s office will release the woman’s name and the cause and manner of her death after her family has been notified.
Anyone with information on the case is urged to call the Henderson Police Department at 702-267-4911 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
