Man dies after losing control of dirt bike
A man died Sunday after a dirt bike accident.
Henderson police said the 50-year-old man was riding on Ivy Street near Lake Mead Parkway about 6:40 p.m. when he lost control of the off-road motorcycle, first hitting a curb and then striking a light pole.
The man was not wearing a helmet. He was taken to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he later died.
Speed was a factor in the crash. It is unknown whether drugs or alcohol were factors.
The county coroner’s office will identify the man.
