Henderson police officer hurt in motorcycle crash
A Henderson police officer was hospitalized Wednesday morning after his motorcycle was struck by a car, police said.
Officer Marcus Hudson was heading east on Sunset Road near Athenian Drive about 10:20 a.m. when Victor Perri, 25, of Las Vegas, was also heading in the same direction and driving a Dodge Charger. Perri switched lanes and hit Hudson, police said.
Hudson lost control and initially struck a curb on the right side of the road. He then veered back to the left and hit Perri’s car before going down, police said.
Hudson was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that weren’t life-threatening, Henderson spokesman Keith Paul said.
Police said a DUI test revealed that Perri was not under the influence and that Perri’s crash data recorder in his Charger is being investigated.
The road was closed for about three hours while police investigated.
