Fire destroys mobile home, damages two others; North Las Vegas fire burns pvc piping

One home was destroyed and two others were damaged Saturday as Clark County and Las Vegas firefighters battled a mobile home fire at the Echo Mobile Home Park, 1322 S. Mojave Road, near Charleston Boulevard and Palm Street. A separate fire burned pvc piping at a North Las Vegas company.

The cause of the mobile home fire was under investigation Saturday afternoon, county spokesman Dan Kulin said. Fire damage was estimated at $50,000.

Firefighters were alerted to the blaze at 11:46 a.m. and extinguished it in less than 20 minutes, Kulin said.

In North Las Vegas, a fire at a company called Just For Rain, 1113 George Ave., near Gowan Road and Bruce Street, sent a black plume of smoke into the sky before firefighters arrived.

Fire spokesman Capt. Cedric Williams said firefighters were alerted to the blaze shortly before 4 p.m.
