Electric Daisy Carnival attendee died from drugs, heat, coroner says
The Clark County Coroner’s office determined that the 20-year-old woman who was pronounced dead days after collapsing at Electric Daisy Carnival died from a combination of drug use and high heat.
Kenani Kaimuloa collapsed and began convulsing while waiting for a shuttle bus with her friends about 6 a.m. June 20, the last day of the festival.
The coroner ruled MDMA, also known as Ecstasy, and cocaine intoxication combined with environmental heat stress caused Kaimuloa’s death.
Her death was ruled an accident.
Nicholas Tom, 24, died from an Ecstasy overdose at EDC in 2015. In 2014, 24-year-old Montgomery Tsang and 25-year-old Anthony Anaya died from an Ecstasy overdose and combined Ecstasy, cocaine and alcohol overdose, respectively, after attending the three-day music festival.
