‘Seussical The Musical’ is coming
to Summerlin performing arts center

James Seastrand Helping Hands of North Las Vegas plans to present “Seussical The Musical” through July 1 at the Summerlin Performing Arts Center, 1771 Inner Circle Drive.

Shows are at 7 p.m. today through Friday .

Proceeds are slated to benefit senior citizens in the Las Vegas Valley.

Comedic powerhouses to play

The Anti-Social Network, featuring comedians Dave Attell, Jim Breuer and Bill Burr, is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Palms, 4321 W. Flamingo Road. Host Jim Norton spearheaded the idea to have four headliners in one show, which premiered in Atlantic City, N.J. After high demand there and in other locations, the Anti-Social Network is now touring across the country. Tickets range from $65 to $85.

Clark County MUSEUM EXHIBIT COVERS EVOLUTION OF OFFICE SUPPLY

Through Oct. 23, an exhibit called “From Carbon Paper to PDF” is slated to be at the Clark County Museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway.

The exhibit showcases 100 years of office evolution and how technology has changed from a quill pen and ink to computers.

at Starbright Theatre

Jack Walker is slated to perform at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Starbright Theatre, 2215 Thomas W. Ryan Blvd.

Walker’s signature show, “Across the Pond,” is a collection of musical influences performed in three languages. He was the principal male vocalist in two of Las Vegas’ longest- running production shows, “Jubilee!” and “Les Folies Bergeres.”

Village Square theater to show
Shakespeare classics

Classic Shakespeare works are planned to be shown in movie theaters this summer.

Each performance will begin at 7 p.m. at Village Square 18, 9400 W. Sahara Ave.

“Henry IV Part 1” is scheduled for Aug. 1, “Henry IV Part 2” for Aug. 18 and “Henry VIII” for Sept. 15.

Each includes a 20-minute historical perspective on the Globe Theatre and its reconstruction.

Plaza to host Vans Warped Tour 2011

The Vans Warped Tour 2011 is scheduled to come to Las Vegas starting at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Plaza Hotel parking lot, 1 S. Main St.

The Ira Aldridge Theater Company, a Las Vegas-based community theater group, is scheduled to perform “Ain’t Misbehavin’,” a tribute to musicians of the 1920s and 1930s and the Harlem Renaissance, at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday at the West Las Vegas Library Theatre, 951 W. ‘Killer Joe’ is coming
to College of Southern Nevada

All of the stereotypical characters and traits of Texas “trailer trash” come to the forefront as “Killer Joe” is presented by the College of Southern Nevada’s Department of Fine Arts. Performances are Saturday and Sunday and July 8-9 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday and July 10 at 2 p.m. in the BackStage Theatre on the Cheyenne campus, 3200 E. Cheyenne Ave..

The play is set in a trailer park near Dallas. “Killer Joe,” who has been hired by the Smith family to murder the matriarch for insurance money, takes the daughter to bed as a retainer against his final payoff, which sets in motion a bloody aftermath as the hit man meets his match.

It’s Movie Madness time in North Las Vegas, and that means free movies under the stars. “Tangled” is scheduled to be shown Aug. 5 at Nature Discovery Park, 2627 Nature Park Drive.
