Thousands of cars pass by each day the fenced-in, now-defunct El Capitan mobile home park on Bonanza near Nellis, and probably no one realized what was behind that temporary fence. In fact, until this past week, there was a massive illegal tire dump so large, numbering some 2,000 discarded tires, that it could clearly be seen from satellite photo imagery on Google Earth.

Anna and Andy, the hummingbirds that inspired Linda P. Young’s “The Adventures of Anna and Andy Hummingbird,” grew up amid the mulberry trees in the author’s Centennial Hills-area backyard. Question: In March of this year I planted a 2-foot tree with few leaves. It now has grown to 4 feet with a wide spread of branches. It is planted in an 18-inch pot in the southeast section of my yard. Will this tree continue to grow in a container? If so, should I transplant it to a larger container? I grow citrus trees in containers and in the ground successfully. This is my first attempt to grow a peach tree.
