Editor’s note: Herb Jaffe’s March 20 column in the Summerlin/Summerlin South View shared the story of George Ruta, a Sun City Summerlin resident who reported seeing a UFO at 2 a.m. Jan. 12. “I looked out of my bedroom window, which faces the street, and then I saw two bright shapes, both shining across the street, just beyond those two houses,” (Ruta) said, pointing. “One light was a multicolored sphere. The other was a very bright white circle, with red inside it. At that point everything was perfectly quiet. The lights stayed that way for about a minute or so, then they moved quickly in the direction of those power lines along Cheyenne Avenue.”

Summerlin couple say they also saw strange lights in night sky
I’ve been saving (Herb Jaffe’s) article from (the Summerlin/Summerlin South View) of March 20. … My husband and I live in the Trails in Summerlin. We were returning home from a night out at approximately 2 a.m. on what we think is the same date. We have an unobstructed view of the western sky and also noticed these two bright shapes in the sky. One had a reddish cast, and we thought possibly a helicopter was on fire. They stayed there for what seemed to be a few minutes, and then they moved toward the north. They were so bright that it really caught our attention, and we just stayed there and watched until they left. We did not hear any noise. We have never seen anything like that before. We had just pulled our car into the garage, and as we looked out the garage into the sky, we both noticed the two bright lights. (I said to my husband, “I’m glad I didn’t see this all by myself and that you see it, too.”)
I just wanted to confirm that we also saw what (Jaffe) wrote about. We believe it was probably the same day.
