Drew Mortensen, 18, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.
A member of Troop 410, he is a student at Foothill High School, where he is on the golf team and plays varsity baseball and tennis. He also enjoys quad racing. He hopes to pursue a career in business management.
Mortensen is the son of Ralph and Sonia Mortensen of Henderson.
Lauren Bokelmann, 18, graduated from Coronado High School with high honors and an advanced honors diploma on June 20. She plans to attend Florida Atlantic University in the fall, having received an academic scholarship from the school.
Bokelmann is the daughter of Bill Bokelmann of Henderson and Leslie Clarkson of Bulverde, Texas.
Nichalas Nelson, 15, has achieved Eagle Scout status in the Boy Scouts of America.
A member of Troop 903, he helped paint the amphitheater at the Temple Bar Campground for his Eagle project.
Nichalas is a student at Green Valley High School, where he is a member of concert band, jazz big band, marching band and the track and field team. He also is on the honor roll and has perfect attendance.
In his free time, he enjoys sports, playing the trumpet and “World of Warcraft.” He plans to pursue a career in marine biology.
Nichalas is the son of Scott Nelson of Henderson.
Nikki Samantha Robles, 18, has graduated from the College of Southern Nevada High School with her high school diploma and an associate of arts degree.
She graduated with high honors in both high school and college.
Robles received the Principal’s Award and the President’s Education and Academic Excellence Award from her high school. She plans to attend the University of Portland in Oregon this fall. She received the President’s Scholarship.
Robles is the daughter of Jesus and Olga Robles of Las Vegas.
James Murakami has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. A 2004 graduate of Chaparral High School, Murakami is the son of Stanley Murakami of Las Vegas.
Joshua Dyer, 21, and Emily Dyer, 19, have been named to the dean’s list at the University of Nevada, Reno, for the spring 2011 semester.
Joshua, a 2008 graduate of Silverado High School, is a senior with a double major in sociology and international affairs. He plans to study in Accra, Ghana, for the fall semester.
Emily, a 2010 graduate of Silverado High School, is a sophomore with a double major in criminal justice and political science.
They are the children of Jon and Ruth Dyer of Las Vegas.
Alexandra Athmann-Marcoux of Las Vegas has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. Athmann-Marcoux is an arts and sciences student.
Danielle Kilmer of Las Vegas has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb. Kilmer is a pharmacy and health professions student.
Cody Aughney of Henderson has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I. Aughney is majoring in management at the university.
Rebecca Ocampo of Las Vegas has been named to the dean’s list for the spring 2011 semester at Seaver College in Malibu, Calif.
