Valentino Las Vegas inside The Venetian, 3355 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to host a dinner featuring white truffles in cuisine by chef Luciano Pellegrini and the wines of Beni di Batasiolo at 7 p.m. Friday.

VEGAS STREATS EVENT TO RETURN SATURDAY

Vegas StrEATs plans to host an event in the Fremont Street East District at the El Cortez lot across from the El Cortez, north of Sixth and Fremont streets, from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday.

Food trucks, art vendors, live music with disc jockeys and drinks will be featured. Food vendors set to participate include WTF Pizza, Sno Ono, Pops, Grouchy Johns and Slidin’ Thru, which is presenting the event in partnership with El Cortez and Insert Coin(s).

Drink specials will include $3 Bud Light, Shock Top and Bud Light Lime, $4 Jameson Irish whiskey, Jagermeister and 1800 Silver tequila shots and $2 Pepsi products.

CARNIVAL OF CUISINE SET FOR SATURDAY AT PALAZZO

The Venetian and Palazzo plan to host the fourth annual Carnival of Cuisine event from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Palazzo Ballroom to showcase award-winning cuisine from restaurants at The Venetian and Palazzo.

The event is set to feature cooking demonstrations, tastings and specialty drinks. Ticket holders also will have the chance to win prizes such as signed cookbooks, restaurant gift certificates and show tickets.

MON AMI GABI PLANS HOLIDAY COOKING CLASS

Mon Ami Gabi at Paris Las Vegas, 3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South, plans to offer a holiday cooking class with chef Terry Lynch from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday.

The menu will feature Dijon deviled eggs with Tobiko caviar; smoked salmon, chile and cucumber on gaufrette chips (aka waffle fries); steak tartare on toasted baguettes and mini New England lobster rolls.

JOE’S SEAFOOD AT CAESARS ADDS SEASONAL ITEMS TO MENU

Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab at the Forum Shops at Caesars has added new seasonal items to the menu.

The Parmesan-crusted flounder is $28.95. Fresh Arctic char is $27.95 and is covered with a crispy pretzel crust and served with a tarragon remoulade. The menu also features maple-glazed salmon, Chilean seabass and Joe’s pork chop. Sides include wild rice pilaf and ham and peas mac and cheese.

MON AMI GABI ADDS NEW DISHES TO WINTER MENU

Mon Ami Gabi inside Paris Las Vegas, 3655 Las Vegas Blvd. South, has added new items to its winter menu.

Menu items include four mushroom soup, endive and Bosc pear salad, roast chicken and frites and classic beef bourguignon.

The restaurant also is serving plats du jour, including coq au vin on Mondays, burgundy short ribs on Wednesdays and beef Wellington on Sundays.

FLAME STEAKHOUSE PLANS HANUKKAH SPECIALS DEC. 20-27

Flame Steakhouse at the El Cortez, 600 E. Fremont St., plans to offer a special Hanukkah menu from 4 to 10 p.m. daily Dec. 20-27 for $18.95.

The menu features an appetizer of chopped chicken liver, choice of matzo ball soup or mixed green salad with vinaigrette dressing, entree choices of brisket of beef roasted with onion and red wine or roasted apricot chicken, sides (all included with choice of entree) of potato latkes, kasha and bowties, steamed broccoli and fresh challah and sweet raisin kugel or ice cream for dessert.

FIRST FOOD & BAR TO HOST WINTER EVENTS

FIRST Food & Bar at The Shoppes at the Palazzo plans to host a free children’s holiday treat production class from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 17.

Children are invited to make gingerbread men and decorate chocolate-covered pretzel rods. Hot chocolate with candy canes and marshmallows will be served.

From 1 to 5 p.m., chef Sam "Sammy D" DeMarco and the FIRST chefs will roast chestnuts on site and serve hot apple cider, hot chocolate and chocolate cookie dough truffles at the exterior of The Venetian by the outdoor gondolas. The event is free and open to the public.

In honor of the Winter in Venice celebration at The Venetian and Palazzo, FIRST plans to offer prix fixe menus through Jan. 8, 2012. The two-course lunch menu is $18 and includes a holiday cocktail. The three-course dinner menu is $25 and also includes a cocktail. Menu items include pumpkin ravioli, Thanksgiving on a roll, venison meatloaf and turkey pot pie.

ROY’S WINE CLUB TO MEET

Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine, 620 E. Flamingo Road, plans to host a waina hui (wine club) tasting from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Dec. 16.

Each tasting features a sampling of Roy’s signature appetizers. Members receive a wine glass, an invitation to all wine club events, an invitation to Roy’s select seasonal events, a 10 percent reduction on bottled wine purchased at Roy’s and reduced pricing for select Roy’s wine dinners.
