Clark County Family Services kicks off back-to-school drive

Schools supplies and uniforms are needed for children in Clark County’s child welfare system.

The Clark County Department of Family Services and foster care organizations in Southern Nevada are accepting donations during a back-to-school donation drive that runs through Aug. 7.

The goal is to collect 1,500 backpacks and school supplies to fill them.

Community members can drop off donations beginning next week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at Peggy’s Attic, 701 N. Pecos Rd. The donation drop-off hours will be extended during the last week of the drive, from Aug. 3-7. Community members will be able to leave donations from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. that Monday through Friday.

The backpacks will be distributed to children from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Juvenile Justice gymnasium on Aug. 13.

Those interested in donating can also call 702-455-5424 to arrange a time to drop off items.
