Boy in pool drowning identified
A 1-year-old boy who drowned in a backyard pool Wednesday was identified Thursday.
Arturo Rubio Roa, 1 year and 8 months old, died at Valley Hospital after the afternoon drowning, which took place in the 1900 block of Fontana Avenue, east of Rancho Drive near downtown.
Las Vegas police said the child’s mother brought him to the hospital after she discovered him in the pool.
Police said the mother might have lost track of her son for about five minutes.
The incident remains under investigation.
