The Las Vegas Centennial Commission has money to give to historical projects. However, the commission questioned the backing the city of Las Vegas has provided the Helldorado Days rodeo and parade. This year’s Helldorado Days has been designated a Nevada Sesquicentennial event. (Las Vegas Review-Journal file)
Helldorado parade participants and spectators braved the Saturday heat to make sure the event went on. For more than two hours, a mix of horses, cars, floats and dancers flowed up 4th Street and through the Fremont Street Experience. Helldorado runs through Sunday at the Las Vegas Village, across from Luxor hotel-casino.
