A hit-and-run in the central Las Vegas Valley left one person dead Friday night, police said.
The collision happened near East Flamingo Road, east of South Eastern Avenue, around 8:10 p.m. Friday, according to Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Sam Bonner.
An SUV heading westbound on Flamingo toward Euclid struck a female pedestrian who was crossing the street, a news release from the department said.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the third pedestrian death in the valley since Wednesday. Two pedestrians were killed and two suffered critical injuries as a result of collisions — including two hit-and-runs — in the span of just over nine hours from Wednesday into early Thanksgiving morning.
After the collision on Friday, police said the SUV driver fled westbound, adding that their identity was unknown.
Metro urged the public to help identify the suspect vehicle by calling Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555 or by visiting www.crimestoppersofNV.com.
The identity of the person killed will be released by the Clark County coroner’s office.
