The Las Vegas Crafters Guild will have its annual holiday boutique 9 a.m.-4 p.m. today at the Lakes Lutheran Church, 8200 W. Sahara Ave. The church also will host a used book sale, and baked goods will be available for purchase.
The Jewish Community Center of Southern Nevada will present free events open to the public during the Jewish Book & Arts Festival through Nov. 20. A discussion with Joseph Gelman, co-author of the biography "Confidential: The Life of Secret Agent Turned Hollywood Tycoon Arnon Michan," will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Midbar Kodesh Temple, 1940 Paseo Verde Parkway, Henderson. On Nov. 20, author Mark Ribowsky will discuss his book "Howard Cosell: The Man, the Myth, and the Transformation of American Sports" at 10:30 a.m. at Congregation Ner Tamid, 55 N. The Interfaith Council of Southern Nevada will continue its fall forum series at 7 p.m. Sunday at the SGI Buddhist Center, 2725 W. Charleston Blvd. The topic will be "Religious Guidance on Achieving Peace." The forum is free and open to the public (895-9303).
Temple Beth Sholom, 10700 Havenwood Drive, will host guest speaker Dr. Judea Pearl, father of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, as part of the Helene Shay Memorial Lecture Series on Jewish Identity, at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
