King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery will sponsor Kever Avot v’lmahot memorial services in conjunction with the Board of Rabbis of Southern Nevada on Sept 12. Rabbis and cantors from Southern Nevada synagogues will conduct the services at the following times and locations: 10:30 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, 1500 Las Vegas Blvd. North; 1 p.m. at King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 E. Eldorado Lane; and 1 p.m. at Palm Mortuary and Memorial Park — Northwest, 6701 N. Jones Blvd. Attendees will receive stones to place on their loved ones’ graves and a free yahrzeit candle to take home. In the spirit of the High Holy Days and tzedakah, attendees are asked to bring a donation of canned or dry food items for the food pantry at the Jewish Family Service Agency of Las Vegas (464-8570).

The Masjid Ibrahim and Islamic Learning Center, 3799 Edwards Ave., will host July Fourth weekend events featuring a Muslim Family Matters Day 11 a.m.-3 p.m. today, and the program “Freedom of Faith: the Inalienable Right” hosted by Imam Mubarak at 1 p.m. Sunday (395-7013).
