Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Fletcher Canyon: An easy to moderate four-mile hike with minor bouldering through a slot canyon Wednesday (515-5367).

Around the Bend Friends: This group of people, 50 years and over, interested in hiking and related social activities will meet at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Santa Fe Casino, 4949 N. Rancho Drive, South Parking Garage, on the left of Level 3, for a moderate three-hour hike at Mount Charleston (642-2285).

Red Rock Canyon, Corn Creek Spring: An easy one-half-mile walk Saturday to view prime habitat for aquatic and land plants and animals (515-5367).

Red Rock Canyon, Bristlecone Pine Trail: A moderate six-mile hike through pine and aspen forests July 22 (515-5367).

Red Rock Canyon, Best Hikes with Dogs: A four-mile hike with a 1,500 foot gain July 22 through Mt. Charleston’s Trail Canyon (515-5367).

Sierra Club: The Southern Nevada Group will have a moderate to strenuous hike along Trail Canyon to Rain Tree on July 22. Contact Randy Czaplicki at 639-0087.

Las Vegas Valley Bicycle Club: A 6:15 a.m. moderate to fast 15-20 mile road ride scheduled on Wednesday. Meet at the NuVision Cyclery on West Lake Mead Boulevard between Rampart Boulevard and Scholar Lane. (228-1333). There will be a 30-plus mile, moderate and hilly, ride on Wednesday and Thursday at 7 a.m., and a 30 to 50-plus mile long grade ride on Saturday at 7 a.m. Meet behind Starbucks on West Charleston Boulevard and Town Center Drive. An easy ride of 25 to 35 miles of flat land on July 22 at 7 a.m. Meet at Einstein Brothers Bagels, 8400 Cheyenne Ave. (873-6256). And a very fast paced 15-20 mile ride with a stop for breakfast July 22 at 7 a.m. Meet at rear of Nevada Power Building, 6226 W. Sahara. (873-8979) Be sure to bring plenty of water for all rides.
