HOME BRIEF
Design center sale to aid area charities
The Las Vegas Design Center at World Market Center will open its doors to the public for a second time Nov. 16 and 17 for a premarket inventory clearance sale organized by the California Central Nevada chapter of American Society of Interior Designers.
The sale will feature highly exclusive home-furnishings products sold by about 80 showrooms. Deep discounts will be offered on designer home furnishings, accessories, lamps, area rugs, wall décor and more.
American Society for Interior Designers members will be available to help with purchases and selections.
The first open-to-the-public sale event in June attracted nearly 7,000 shoppers in two days and raised $67,570 for local charities
“There is a lot of pent-up demand and this is a twice-a-year opportunity for the general public to be inside our building and access the showrooms,” said William Grenewald, general manager of the design center.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. A $10 admission fee is being asked, with proceeds benefiting the Nevada AIDS Project, Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas and Opportunity Village. In addition, each paid admission will include a free pass for Opportunity Village’s Magical Forest.
Capital North American Van Lines will be available to arrange deliveries for a fee to shoppers buying large merchandise.
All sales are final during the clearance event and payments must be made by Visa, MasterCard or cash. Personal checks will not be accepted.
The design center is located at 495 S. Grand Central Parkway. Those planning to attend should note that Grand Central Parkway is closed due to construction and that vehicle access to the facility is off of Discovery Drive, which can be reached from Martin Luther King Blvd.
