Bloomingdale’s debuts lifestyle brand
Bloomingdale’s recently added a bit of comfort and high style to its home stores with the addition of the renowned home furnishings lifestyle brand, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. The stores are offering a diverse assortment of the company’s upholstered and slipcovered furniture, wood furnishings, accessories and lighting.
“Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams’ design style truly embraces our shopper’s interests, needs and tastes. The marriage of brands could not be more perfect,” said Joe Laneve, senior vice president and general merchandise manager, Home Furnishings. “And, we are thrilled that Mitchell has come home to Bloomingdale’s, where he began his career and developed his creative and business acumen.”
The Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams “shop” will feature three key upholstery groups — Christopher, Norton and Marcy — organized into room settings showcasing a variety of pieces such as dining tables, armoires, end tables and desks, as well as accessories and lighting.
Modern design meets maximum comfort with the Christopher collection. The extra-deep seating features three-over-three cushions, oversized proportions and well-padded square arms. Its generous scale provides room for stretching out, while the overstuffed cushions make it easy to relax. The collection is showcased with the Max bunching table and Misha nesting tables.
Norton offers a balance of style and livability with simple lines that can anchor any room, whether its style be classic, modern or eclectic. The seating is sleek, simple and comfortable with two-over-two styling and quality construction. Modern track arms and a winged back set this collection apart. It coordinates well with the Liana slipper chair, Cedric side table, Cedric cocktail table and the Cedric étagère.
Grand in scale, Marcy offers welcoming deep seating with shelter roll arms, nailhead trim, a carved wood base and Chesterfield-inspired lines. The continuous roll of the back and arms highlight the group’s sofa. It is paired with the Gustave wing chair, Berkeley dining table, Dane cocktail table, Donnabella bunching table and Donnabella chest.
Assorted pieces from the mid-century-inspired Nadia collection and accessories such as vases, baskets and picture frames will complete the root settings.
According to Laneve, The Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams collections make it easy for shoppers to integrate eclectic styles of furniture allowing them to achieve more of a “collected” look, rather than a “decorated” look. And, the varied offerings will allow customers to put together their own unique assortment by combining the different styles, fabrics, materials and textures available.
Pricing for the furniture collection range from $500 to $4,140. Coordinating accessories range in price from $35 for a picture frame to $520 for a pendant chandelier.
Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, formerly known as The Mitchell Gold Co. (the company changed its name in the spring of 2005 to reflect the significant contributions of co-founder and president of design, Bob Williams), is best known for comfortable, stylish and value-conscious slipcovered and upholstered furniture, case goods, lighting, rugs, accessories, as well as an exclusive fine art photography collection by Tipper Gore.
